In this report, a co-responder team (CRT) is defined as an approach that pairs health care professionals with law enforcement officers to respond to calls related to mental health concerns, homelessness, health and social service challenges, and intimate partner violence. CRTs are a critical tool for law enforcement when responding to people in danger or crisis.
