Many lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer or questioning (LGBTQ+) individuals have experienced a range of unfavorable experiences with law enforcement. The negative experiences range from lack of understanding to discrimination, hostility, or violence. This has influenced the trust between LGBTQ+ communities and law enforcement. The purpose of this resource is to enhance law enforcement’s understanding of and response to sexual violence in LGBTQ+ communities.
