Evidence and Property Management Policy – Template

In this template, law enforcement agencies are encouraged to expand victim-centered, trauma-informed practices to victims, despite the historical focus on apprehension, prosecution, adjudication, and punishment of offenders. This history often leaves the many needs of crime victims unmet. This template encourages victim response as an agencywide priority and promotes written policies to guide personnel actions. The purpose of this document is to give law enforcement sample language and content when they establish written policies to guide victim-centered, trauma-informed evidence and property management.
