Author: LETTAC, LETTAC

This webinar focuses on the information that dispatchers/call-takers need when responding to calls for domestic violence. Presenters will begin the discussion with information regarding various telecommunicator roles and responsibilities, including the difference between call-taker and dispatch and how these roles provide law enforcement with critical information as well as how the roles may unintentionally create delays for law enforcement obtaining information. Presenters will address gaps, challenges, and opportunities that arise on the initial call to on-scene disposition to increase the safety of victims and officers. The webinar will present information on structured call-taking and free questioning. Speakers will discuss possible danger on-scene and the ramifications of missing critical safety information.
